Unit Secretary

Description:
The Unit Clerk, under the direct supervision of the Program Director, and/or designee, performs receptionist, clerical and secretarial activities, as well as medical record duties.
The Unit Secretary functions as the central communication source at the nursing station.
All methods of practice shall conform to written hospital policies and procedures and be carried out to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration.
The Unit Clerk will demonstrate the Barnabas Health philosophy to Total Quality Management by actively applying that philosophy in all dealings with both internal and external customers.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical Secretarial School or equivalent, preferred.
Knowledge of medical/psychiatric terminology and medication required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word preferred.
Experience in medical transcription preferred.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
